Au Pairing

Au Pairing is the perfect way to gain an authentic Australian experience; if you decide to select the Au Pair route, you can expect an outdoor lifestyle with plenty of activities and an opportunity to check out the local area!

With a minimum term of 6 months, applicants can then spend the rest of their time in Australia on their Working Holiday Visa either Au Pairing with a different family, joining another one of our Work and Travel programs or embarking on a magical journey across the stunning coast in a rented camper van.

Contrary to widespread belief, Au Pairs don’t take on the role of a nanny or a babysitter. Rather, they provide between 25-35 hours of childcare per week, and this may include some light household duties. Additionally, they’ll be provided with a full private room, full board and 2 days off per week with a weekly allowance. While our host families are situated all over Australia, our most popular destination is Sydney, followed by the outback. Whichever part of the country your relation is placed in they will gain a unique insight into real life down under!

With a minimum term of 6 months, applicants can then spend the rest of their time in Australia on their Working Holiday Visa either Au Pairing with a different family, joining another one of our Work and Travel programs or embarking on a magical journey across the stunning coast in a rented camper van.

Spending a year in Australia as a nanny was such a great experience. I had the best family and got the opportunity to do so many cool things. I would go back in heartbeat.

The AusJob team supported me so much and they really made my year in Australia something special. My family were so kind. Although the kids could be troublesome, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

FAQ's
What do I need to go and work in Australia?

You must be between 18-30 years old, you will need a Working Holiday Visa (Visa 417 or 462), a flight to Australia, a valid Passport and around £2,000 in the bank. Either on arrival or before you go, you will need to arrange a Tax File number and a Bank Account. With the exception of the £2,000 in the bank, we can help you with all of the above.

My passport isn’t a British passport, can I still get a job through AusJob?

Yes, as long as you are eligible for a Working Holiday Visa (Visa 417). We have placed many people from most European countries in jobs.

How long do I need to work in the Outback in order to Qualify for a second year in Australia?

88 days as a minimum. This can be spread out over your first year, but most people get it done in one go.
