This has been what I can only describe as being an amazing week! We got to see and do so much in a short space of time , the boys were so informative about the history of the city’s landmarks , they also planned the itinerary with fine detail and everything was so well thought out. I would highly recommend anyone to do this the boys are a credit to them selves and I would do it all again if I could!

Meet and greet, city tour and welcome meal. Your week will begin with a morning meet and greet of your brand new Melbourne travel family! You will quickly learn why the next 7 days will form the best week of your life and we will kick things off by taking you on a walking tour around Melbourne to show you this fascinatingly diverse city. We’ll be taking you to famous Melbourne Graffiti Laneways, the world famous Federation Square, bustling Bourke Street Mall and many other must-see stops. We’ll end the day with a group welcome meal (dinner included) at one of Australia’s most iconic settings, the banks of the Yarra River.
Tax file number, bank set up, sim card. Explore food markets and Laneway bars. The first job today will be to sort your admin needs for your time in Australia. We’ll organise your tax file number (this is essential when applying for jobs), bank account and phone number. You will also receive a FREE 12 months YHA Membership Card. After the paperwork is done, we’ll visit the world famous Queen Victoria Market where we’ll explore the stalls and haggle a bargain. This true Melbourne institution is also a perfect setting for our lunch, which we’d recommend is a light one… That’s because our afternoon will be spent in the most Melbourne way possible, eating and drinking! Melbourne has more food establishments than anywhere in the world so we thought the best way to showcase that was to create an exclusive food tour just for you, so we did!
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY
Beach huts, wine tasting, animal visits and surf lessons. It’s time to leave the City behind and head South to see the beautiful surrounds of Melbourne. Over two days we’ll visit the stunning Mornington Peninsula and Phillip Island, two of the most beautiful and untouched spots in Australia. Over two days you’ll tick off those bucket list items as you see stunning pristine beaches, feed kangaroos, hang with koalas, even learn to surf, clap eyes on 500 tiny penguins and even indulge in the finest wine Australia has to offer! Think of why you came to Australia and so much of it is in these two days. Not only does it already sound amazing, this tour doesn’t normally exist and has been especially created for you. There’s no better way to experience all of these things than with your brand new Melbourne family!
St Kilda, beach hangs, Luna Park, and paddle boarding
Melbourne has many celebrated suburbs and St Kilda is as famous as they get. We’ll take the morning to stroll this quaint beach suburb taking in its iconic promenade, alfresco cafes and famous landmarks such as Luna Park, Acland St and the Palais Theatre. The afternoon can be spent lazing on the beach, paddle boarding
Explore the city, employment help, travel talk, accommodation advice, bar crawl. Saturday morning is YOUR time to chill out and explore Melbourne. We recommend you take us up on all our local tips on how to spend the morning, brunch spots being our speciality! Advice in the morning will be followed by advice in the afternoon as we talk about where after Melbourne? We have backpacked Australia so know all the hot spots and we’ll be able to help you plan your adventure. As we wrap that up, we’ll crack open the beers before the big Saturday night bar crawl!
Chill morning, roof top BBQ, farewell drinks. And as if like that, it’s nearly over. We’re not silly and one thing we’re experienced with is the morning after so we’re leaving the morning to you. We expect it will be a lazy one after a big Saturday night. Sunday afternoon we’ll help again with job information as well as answer any travel questions from the previous day. Melbourne is celebrated for rooftop/laneway bars and after a farewell meal we’d love to give you a fitting send off by taking you to a few of our personal favourites that no regular tourist would ever usually find. Many people ask how much money they should budget for their time in Melbourne. We would suggest $6-15 for lunch and $12-$20 for dinner – this is of course is if you want to eat out. If eating out isn’t your thing, you are more than welcome to cook as a group in the accommodation!

What do I need to go and work in Australia?
You must be between 18-30 years old, you will need a Working Holiday Visa (Visa 417 or 462), a flight to Australia, a valid Passport and around £2,000 in the bank. Either on arrival or before you go, you will need to arrange a Tax File number and a Bank Account. With the exception of the £2,000 in the bank, we can help you with all of the above.
My passport isn’t a British passport, can I still get a job through AusJob?
Yes, as long as you are eligible for a Working Holiday Visa (Visa 417). We have placed many people from most European countries in jobs.
How long do I need to work in the Outback in order to Qualify for a second year in Australia?
88 days as a minimum. This can be spread out over your first year, but most people get it done in one go
